Discover East Asia - Veg/jain : Multi Cuisine

If you’re craving pure vegetarian flavors with a serious range, East Asia - Veg/jain : Multi Cuisine in Borivali West is the kind of place that quietly wins you over. Tucked inside Shop15, Om Satyam Niwas, CHS, Rayani Gram, Borivali West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400092, India, this diner-style restaurant brings together Asian, Indian, and global plates in a way that feels thoughtful rather than overwhelming.

I first visited on a busy Saturday evening, expecting the usual weekend chaos. Instead, I found a well-managed dining space with quick seating and attentive staff who clearly knew the menu inside out. What stood out immediately was their strict adherence to Jain and vegetarian principles. For anyone who follows a no-onion, no-garlic diet, consistency matters. According to guidelines followed by many Jain communities and supported by traditional dietary frameworks in India, avoiding root vegetables and certain ingredients is more than preference-it’s philosophy. Here, that philosophy is respected without compromising flavor.

The menu is surprisingly expansive. You’ll find Asian-inspired starters like crispy vegetable tempura, paneer satay, and perfectly balanced Manchurian made without onion or garlic. Then there are North Indian staples-rich gravies, soft rotis, and fragrant pulao-alongside Chinese and Continental dishes. I tried their Jain Schezwan fried rice paired with a vegetable gravy. The spice level was bold but not overpowering, and the texture of the vegetables was just right-crunchy, not soggy. It’s clear that the kitchen follows precise cooking methods, especially in maintaining high heat for stir-frying, which preserves both nutrients and taste.

What makes multi-cuisine vegetarian dining work is technique. Research published by organizations like the Indian Dietetic Association emphasizes that plant-based meals, when properly balanced, can provide complete nutrition. At East Asia, you see this in their thoughtful ingredient combinations-lentils for protein, fresh vegetables for fiber, and dairy used moderately to enhance richness without heaviness. Even their soups, like the hot and sour Jain version, deliver depth through spices and natural extracts rather than artificial flavor enhancers.

Over multiple visits, I’ve noticed the consistency. That’s not easy in a busy Mumbai suburb. Online reviews frequently mention their reliable quality and portion sizes. In fact, a friend who hosted a small family gathering ordered their party platters-combining Hakka noodles, paneer chilli dry, and dal fry-and the food arrived neatly packed and still hot. The process was smooth, from order confirmation to timely delivery. In hospitality, this operational discipline reflects strong management standards.

Cleanliness and transparency also add to the trust factor. The dining area is simple but well-kept, and the staff readily explain ingredients when asked. For families with dietary restrictions, that openness matters. While I haven’t had access to their kitchen operations directly, the visible hygiene practices align with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) norms, which focus on safe handling and storage.

Another thing I appreciate is how they’ve localized global flavors. The sauces in their Asian dishes are adjusted to Indian palates without losing authenticity. It’s a delicate balance. Too much adaptation, and the cuisine loses identity; too little, and it alienates diners. Here, they seem to understand their Borivali crowd well-families, working professionals, and senior citizens looking for dependable vegetarian dining.

Pricing is reasonable for Mumbai standards, especially considering the portion sizes. You won’t feel rushed, and you won’t feel overcharged. That combination keeps people coming back. The restaurant may not have flashy interiors or dramatic plating, but what it delivers is far more valuable-flavor integrity, dietary respect, and dependable service.

If you’re in Borivali West and looking for a vegetarian or Jain-friendly restaurant with a diverse menu, this spot makes it easy. From casual dinners to small celebrations, it handles multi-cuisine dining with confidence and care, proving that plant-based food can be just as indulgent, diverse, and satisfying as any other culinary experience.

  • We visited East Asia Restro located in Borivali (they also have an outlet in Kandivali), and it turned out to be such a delightful experience. The place has a huge seating area with both outdoor and indoor sections, making it a great spot to spend time with family. For drinks, we tried their Fruit Punch and Passionfruit Biz, both of which were refreshing and well-balanced. Coming to starters, everything we ordered was top-notch. The Cheesy Veggie Shumai was absolutely delicious – soft on the outside and bursting with cheesy veggie filling inside, a definite must-try! We also had the Whisky Flamed Paneer, which was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the sesame chilli sauce. For mains, we tried the Vietnamese Fried Rice along with an Asian-style gravy. The combination was rich in flavor and very satisfying. To end on a sweet note, we indulged in their in-house chocolate pastry, which was decadent and the perfect finish to the meal. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for its amazing food, spacious seating, and warm hospitality. A must-visit for all Asian cuisine lovers in Borivali and Kandivali!

  • Tried East Asia recently and it was an absolute treat! We kicked things off with The Cure, a refreshing Kala Khatta vodka mix, and the vibrant Blue Hawaii, perfect to set the mood. For starters, the Korean Braised Paneer was bursting with bold flavors while the Edamame Crunchy Tikka offered the perfect bite with a crispy outside and soft inside. The Nasi Goreng was the highlight, full of rich, exotic spices. Paired it with their Kolhapuri and butter roti combo which added a nice Indian touch to the meal. Ended on a high with their sizzling brownie, rich, gooey, and indulgent. Lovely ambiance, fast service, and a menu that blends East Asian flair with desi comfort. Can’t wait to be back!
